1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you register an account or sign in with Google or email, we collect your email address, display name, and public profile avatar URL (if provided by Google OAuth).
Workspace Content & Notes: We store the content you create inside BrainExt boards, including sticky note text, checklists, audio alarm parameters, position coordinates, color selections, and tags to enable real-time synchronization across your devices.
Guest / Demo Mode: If you use BrainExt in Interactive Demo mode without creating an account, your notes and board configurations are stored only locally in your browser's memory and local cache, and are never uploaded to persistent cloud databases.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect exclusively to:
- Authenticate your identity and manage your session securely.
- Store, restore, and synchronize your canvas notes and boards across your logged-in browsers and devices.
- Deliver scheduled alarm notifications and reminders that you configure.
- Diagnose technical issues and maintain application stability and performance.
3. Data Storage, Security & Cloud Providers
BrainExt utilizes Google Cloud Platform and Firebase infrastructure (Firestore, Firebase Authentication) for cloud storage. All communication between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption.
We enforce strict database security rules ensuring that your boards and notes are accessible and editable solely by your authenticated user ID.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information or notes content.
We only share data with essential service providers (such as Google Cloud / Firebase) that power our authentication and database infrastructure, strictly under confidentiality agreements for service fulfillment.
5. Your Rights and Data Control
You retain full ownership of your data at all times. You have the right to:
- Export your boards and notes at any time using in-app backup/export options.
- Permanently delete individual notes, entire boards, or your full workspace.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated Firestore records by contacting us.
